Most if not all climate scientist agree that we are now facing a climate and ecological disaster. In 2018 the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC *) declared a Climate Emergency stating that we have 12 years to reach zero carbon emissions or face permanent irreversible climate change. In many parts of the world, serious and damaging effects are already a reality, and the impact will spread to affect us sooner than many realise (Thursday 25th July 2019 was the hottest day on UK records).
